Partying in Tokyo・東京でパーティ第1話

皆さん、こんにちは！

I really fell off the ball with my blog. I've had a lot of things to take care of! I'm finally getting around to posting everything from the past 6 months!
最近は忙しすぎて、ブログを投稿する時間がありませんでした。なので、６ヶ月分の記事を投稿します！

Back in September, there was a three-day weekend for Japanese Labor Day. The original plan was to go to Busan, South Korea, but instead, my friend and I (let's call her, "Bee") ended up traveling to Tokyo and crashing at a friend's place.
昨年の九月は国民の祝日のため、三連休がありました。友達の（ビーちゃんと呼びましょう）と韓国のプサンに行くつもりでしたが、結局は東京に行って、高校時代の友達のアパートに泊まりました。

It was a great experience! Although I've been living in Japan for over two years, I've only ever gone there for my job orientation and for a layover during my first trip home to visit my family in the United States. I haven't gone there to just for fun, thought I've been wanting to for a while. My partner in crime and I had a blast!
すごく楽しかったです！もう二年程、日本に住んでいますが、仕事のオリエンテーションやアメリカに帰る際の乗り換え以外は、東京へ遊びに行ったことがありませんでした。ずっと東京へ行きたいと思っていたので、親友と一緒に行けてとても楽しかったです！

At the beginning of September, we booked bus tickets there and back. Altogether, our total transport cost came to about ￥11,000. Not bad, right! The bus rides themselves were about 9-10 hours each way, so that was a bit rough, but we slept the entire time, so I guess it worked out!
九月の上旬に往復分のバスチケットをネットで買いました。往復の交通費は約１万千円でした！悪くないですね！一方で、バスは９～１０時間ぐらいかかったので、少し辛かったです。でも、ずっと寝ていたので、あっという間でした。

On Friday night, I got on the bus at Tennoji, and Bee joined me when the bus stopped in Umeda. We slept for the majority of our bus ride though. When we woke up, we were in Ikebukuro! It was so cool to see Ikebukuro with my own eyes. I had only ever seen it in anime and dramas. Our bus stop was close to Otome Road, which was great for me and Bee, as we had been searching for a butler café to wander into. Unfortunately, all of the butler cafes were booked for the weekend that we came.
金曜日の夜に、天王寺でバスに乗り、ビーちゃんは梅田で乗車し、隣に座ってくれました。バスに乗っていた時は、ほとんど寝ていました。起きたら、池袋に到着しました！自分の目で、実際に池袋を見ることができ、すごかったです！アニメやドラマでしか見たことがなかったからです。バスから降りた場所は、乙女ロードというところに近かったです。私とビーちゃんは、ＢＬカフェまたは執事喫茶を事前にネットで調査していたので、完璧でした！残念ながら、その週末は予約で満席だったので、行けなかったです。目の前を通るくらいしかできませんでした。

It was still pretty early in the morning and we were waiting for my old friend from high school (let’s call him, “Su”) to tell us where he left his key, so we could drop our stuff off at his place. He wasn’t answering his phone though, so we went to Shibuya to get breakfast and kill time. We found the famous Hachi statue outside of Shibuya station and took a million pictures. It was perfect because there was barely anyone else around the statue, since it was so early in the morning.
まだ早朝に、高校時代の友達（スー君と呼びましょう）が起きて、鍵をどこにおいたかを教えてくれるのを待っていました。教えてくれるまでは荷物を置くことができなかったので。メールや電話をいくらかけても、電話に出なかったので、彼が起きるまで、ビーちゃんと時間を潰しに渋谷へ行くことにしました。渋谷駅を出たところには有名なハチ公の像があり、写真をたくさん撮りました。まだ朝早く、誰もいなかったので、百万枚ぐらいの写真や自撮り写真が撮れました。

Afterward, we went to McDonalds to get breakfast sandwiches. We were starting to get worried that Su, whose place we were supposed to crash at, wasn’t answering. So I called my college bestie (let’s call him, “Big T”) as a backup. Unfortunately, he didn’t answer either. When we finished eating, Bee and I just wandered around aimlessly until someone answered. Eventually, Su got back to us, so we went over to his place, dropped off our suitcases and put on cute clothes and makeup.
写真を撮り終えたら、マクドへ行って、朝ごはんのセットを買い、店内で食べました。スー君はなかなか電話を取らなかったので、ちょっと心配し始めました。そこで、大学時代の親友（ビッグ・ティ）にも代役として電話をかけました。残念なことに、彼も電話に出ませんでした。食後、誰かが電話に出るまで、渋谷をちょっとぶらぶらしました。しばらくの時間が経つとスー君がやっと返事をくれました。彼のアパートへ行って、荷物を置いて、可愛らしい服に着替えて、メイクをしました。

Once we were finished getting ready, Su walked us to Shinjuku station. From there, Bee and I took a train to Harajuku! We went in and out of cute clothes store, got bubble tea, and took even more pictures! Whenever I’m with her, we always have a great time! After shopping, we went to find rainbow grilled cheese! Naturally we wanted to try it, but more importantly, we wanted to post it on the ‘gram!

出かける準備が終わったら、スー君が新宿駅まで案内してくれました。そこから、私とビーちゃんは電車に乗って、原宿まで行きました！いろいろな可愛い店に入って、タピオカティを飲んで、写真を何枚も撮りました！ビーちゃんと一緒にいると何事も倍くらい楽しくなります！買い物が終わったら、レインボー・グリルチーズを探しに行きました！もちろん、元から食べてみたかったのですが、それよりインスタ映えの写真を撮りたかったのです！

After getting all of our pics and having our fun, Bee and I went back to Su’s place to relax and wait for Su to get off work. Initially we planned to take a nap, but we ended up dancing to k-pop and trap music instead. We had TOO much fun! Eventually, I fell asleep while waiting for Su. When I woke up, Su and his friends were finally back and Bee was on her way back with food I had asked for in my sleep.
沢山の写真を撮って、遊び終わったら、私とビーちゃんはスー君のアパートに戻って休憩し、スー君が仕事から帰ってくるのを待っていました。最初は、お昼寝をするつもりでしたが、K-popとトラップのダンスをして、二人で盛り上がってしまいました！とても楽しかったです！スー君を待っている間、私はいつの間にか寝てしまいました。起きたら、スー君と複数の友達が帰ってきていて、ビーちゃんが寝言で欲しいと言った食べ物を買いに行ってくれました。

Once everyone was finally gathered, it was too late to go clubbing, so we went to get Korean food and drink soju instead. After everyone was drunk, we went to Karaoke and sang until the sun came up! Around 6am, our group of 5 twenty-somethings walked home while acting totally silly. We slept for all of 2 hours before getting ready and heading out again!
やっと全員が集合した時は時間が遅く、近くのクラブくらいにしか行けなかったので、その代わりに韓国料理を食べに行って、ソジュを飲みました。皆が酔っ払ったら、そのままカラオケに行って朝まで思い切り歌いました。朝６時ぐらいに、酔った5人組の20代の私たちは、馬鹿なことをしながら帰りました。２、3時間ぐらい寝て、そのまま私とビーちゃんがまた出かけました！
